Dundee United moved five points clear at the top of the Clydesdale Bank U20 League thanks to a 3-2 win against Motherwell at Fir Park on Monday evening. All the goals came in the second half, with Dale Hilson, Ryan Ferguson and Jordan Moore on target for United and Craig Moore and Bob McHugh scoring for Motherwell.
St Johnstone inflicted Celtic's first defeat of the season, winning 2-1 at Firhill with goals from Liam Caddis and Callum McConnell. Michael Miller had Celtic level for a time.
Dunfermline are up to second spot after beating Hamilton 4-1 at East End Park. Craig Dargo bagged a double and Ross Millen and Ross Drummond also netted for the Pars. Matthew Craig claimed a consolation goal for Accies.
Kilmarnock enjoyed a 3-1 victory over bottom club Dundee at Dens Park with goals from Paul Heffernan, Craig Slater and Jude Winchester. Graham Webster scored for the Dark Blues.
Hearts overcame Ross County 4-2 at the Global Energy Stadium. Scott Robinson, Callum Tapping, Gordon Smith and Jamie Walker all hit the target for the visitors. Steven Ross and Kyle MacLeod were County's marksmen.
St Mirren hit back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Aberdeen in Paisley. Cammy Smith and Declan McManus had the Dons in command but Jon Scullion pulled one back before half-time and Kieran Doran levelled in stoppage time.
Hibernian and Inverness C.T played out a 0-0 draw at the Hibs Training Centre.
