Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 Hibernian 3 (Sunday)
Hibs opened up a six-point gap at the bottom of the table after an entertaining win at Inverness. Inverness C.T. dominated the early stages but it took until the hour before they went ahead, Paul Hanlon pulled down Billy McKay and Greg Tansey scored with the resultant penalty. Hanlon made up for conceding the penalty by heading the equaliser four minutes later and Garry O'Connor swept home Matt Doherty’s cross to put Hibs ahead after 75 minutes. Jonny Hayes' cross found the net to level eight minutes later, but Leigh Griffiths fired Hibs' 85th-minute winner to give them a much needed win in their battle against relegation.
Dundee United 3 Dunfermline Athletic 0
Three second-half goals continued United’s good run and means Dunfermline are now six points adrift of Hibs at the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Robbie Neilson missed United’s best chance in the first half but they took the lead when Jon Daly chested down and finished smoothly. Gary Mackay-Steven set up the second goal when he beat three Dunfermline players before rolling the ball back for Scott Robertson to score. Daly added the third from Johnny Russell’s cross as United eased to their sixth successive victory.
Hearts 3 Aberdeen 0
Rudi Skacel scored twice as Hearts sealed a top six spot in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Danny Grainger set up the opener when his corner was headed in by Ryan McGowan. McGowan turned provider to set up Skacel, whose left-foot effort from long range doubled Hearts' advantage. Aberdeen came close when Stephen Hughes’ free-kick was met by Scott Vernon, who controlled the ball but scooped the effort over the bar. That killed Aberdeen’s hopes and Skacel sealed victory when he controlled Darren Barr's pass and tucked the ball beyond Jason Brown.
Motherwell 1 Rangers 2
Lee McCulloch struck two minutes from time to snatch victory for Rangers in an incident-packed game. Motherwell went ahead when Estonian Henrik Ojamaa slotted in after Chris Humphrey’s run but Rangers levelled when Dorin Goian teed up Steven Whittaker for a left-foot drive which beat Darren Randolph. There was a double dose of controversy when home defender Tim Clancy was fortunate to escape a red card for a headbutt on Whittaker. Sone Aluko then went down from Randolph’s challenge but he was booked for simulation – despite TV pictures showing there had been contact. It was an even game and Motherwell looked set to hold on for their first point against Rangers in almost two years until McCulloch scored from Lee Wallace’s long throw - meaning Celtic couldn’t win the title on Sunday.
St Mirren 4 Kilmarnock 2
St Mirren's first Clydesdale Bank Premier League win since Christmas Eve took them above Aberdeen and to within two points of Kilmarnock. Dieter van Tornhout put Killie ahead from Garry Hay’s pass but Steven Thomson crossed for Steve Thompson to level. Thomson headed his side ahead from Dougie Imrie’s cross and Saints went 3-1 up when Nigel Hasselbaink held off Momo Sissoko to score. Imrie set up Thompson for his second and although sub Liam Kelly set up Dean Shiels for Kilmarnock’s second, Saints were comfortable winners.
Celtic 2 St Johnstone 0 (Sunday)
Celtic needed a second-half surge to stay on the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title track. Frazer Wright cleared Charlie Mulgrew’s effort off the line in an even first-half. After the break Alan Mannus saved well from Kris Commons before Georgios Samaras headed in a Commons free-kick to put Celtic ahead. Celtic wrapped up the points when Chris Millar diverted Samaras’ cross in for the clincher meaning Celtic only need one point away to Kilmarnock next weekend to be crowned Clydesdale Bank Premier League Champions.
