St Johnstone 2 Celtic 1
St Johnstone came from behind to shock champions Celtic.  Kris Commons put the visitors ahead after only three minutes from Gary Hooper’s pass – with home goalkeeper Alan Mannus looking culpable.  Saints levelled when Rowan Vine played in Gregory Tade and he beat Fraser Forster with a low drive.  Celtic claimed a penalty for Steven Anderson’s tackle on Commons but referee Euan Norris waved play on – and Saints took advantage.  Nigel Hasselbaink set up Vine for a fine finish ten minutes from time and Celtic couldn’t find a way to salvage a point.

Dundee United 0 Ross County 0

County claimed their fourth goalless draw of the season to maintain their unbeaten league record.  Colin McMenamin almost gave them a dream start when he headed against the bar early on, and the striker also came close when he just failed to convert after Keith Watson’s slip.  Johnny Russell almost scored for United but Michael Fraser blocked his effort – and although Ryan Dow’s cross hit the bar with twenty minutes left, neither side could make the breakthrough and County extended their unbeaten league record to 40 games.

Dundee 1 Motherwell 2
Motherwell fought back from a goal down to stay at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.  The home side led when John Baird’s cross was converted by Colin Nish.  Motherwell levelled after the break when substitute Henrik Ojamaa set up Michael Higdon to score at the second attempt.  Motherwell won it when Higdon headed in Tom Hateley’s corner with six minutes to go – his double making him the league’s top scorer.

Hibernian 2 Kilmarnock 1
Hibs moved into second spot in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League thanks to this win.  Hibs went in front when Leigh Griffiths’ corner was clawed into his own net by Killie goalkeeper Kyle Letheren.  Danny Racchi equalised with a smooth finish but Hibs were soon back in front when Paul Cairney went down in the box and Griffiths scored from the spot.  Hibs remained on top after the break and the only black spot was the loss of two-goal Griffiths to injury with fifteen minutes left.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 Aberdeen 1

Both sides finished with ten men as spoils were shared.  After an even first-half Caley Thistle were reduced to ten men when Owen Tudur-Jones was shown a straight red by referee George Salmond for a foul on Ryan Fraser – his second ordering-off of the season.  Aberdeen were reduced to ten men when sub Shane Sutherland was brought down by Russell Anderson.  He was sent off and Richie Foran scored from the resulting penalty.  However Aberdeen levelled when Cammy Smith turned in Jonny Hayes’ cross.

St Mirren 2 Hearts 0
Saints grabbed their first home win of the season against shot-shy Hearts.  Jim Goodwin fired the home side ahead with a 40-yard drive seven minutes before the interval.  Hearts fell further behind two minutes after the re-start when Steven Thompson set up Lewis Guy for a simple finish.  Hearts tried to find a way back but St Mirren held out for the win comfortably.
