Clydesdale Bank Premier League trophy tour
Over the first few months of the
2010/11 season, Clydesdale Bank customers across Scotland were in for a surprise
when they popped into their local branch, as the Clydesdale Bank Premier League
trophy was on display in selected branches. Customers could take their photograph with the
trophy, and enter into our prize draw for the chance to win a pair of match
tickets for their SPL team, or the chance to have the Clydesdale Bank Premier
League trophy at their school or workplace for the day.
Three winners were picked at random from all entries. Clydesdale Bank
Sponsorship Manager Steven Hunt said: “The Clydesdale Bank Premier League
trophy is a visually unique
symbol of the league, and it’s great to be able to allow our customers and fans
the chance to see this up close. I hope the winners all enjoy being “champions”
for the day.”
Trophy visits HMRC Inverness
The first winner was Valerie Clyne who had entered the prize draw while in the
Clydesdale Bank branch on Academy Street in Inverness. She chose to have the
trophy at her workplace, the HMRC office in Inverness.
The trophy was displayed in the office for the afternoon with staff able to have
their photograph taken with it. Inverness Caledonian Thistle players Eric
Odhiambo and Jonny Hayes visited to congratulate Valerie and add some star
quality to the photos.
Valerie was really surprised to have won the trophy for the day, she said: “I
had totally forgotten about entering the draw when I got the call to say I’d
won, I had been in the Clydesdale Bank for something else that day and took
part. There has been a real buzz in the office today with people knowing that
the trophy was coming. It’s been good to have something a bit different in the
office, even the non-football fans were keen to have their photo taken with it,
to make their partners jealous!”
